2013-14 Service Projects

Currently the troop is participating in Pop Tab Pandemonium

Save the Can Tabs off of soda cans and canned foods. Turn them in as you collect them to the collection center at Troop Meetings. At the end of the year the Tabs will be turned in to council to be given to Ronald McDonald house.

More service projects will be added soon!

Serving the Needy

Bethlehem House is a homeless shelter in Conway. The soup kitchen is open every night at 6:00pm where local needy families can come and get a hot cooked meal. The troop donated the food and prepared all the fixings themselves. The girls served Tacos, Nachos and Refried Beans for their menu.

Giving Back

Troop 6740 helped Advent Lutheran Church by a donation of Flowers and flower bed maintenance. The girls purchased pansy flowers with troop money and planted them in the flower beds at the entrance to the church. The troop also pulled weeds and swept and cleaned up clippings of old plants. The girls wanted to show thier appreciation to the church for letting them hold troop meetings there. This is something the troop plans to do on a regular basis.

Helping those in need

Troop 6740 helped Knitting for Noggins by knitting 37 hand made hats! These hats were donated to Arkansas Childrens Hospitals Knitting for Noggins program which gives home made hats to cancer patients and homeless people. Notonly did we help those in need but we also earned the Yarn and Fabric Arts badge and used this activity as a service project toward earning the Bronze Award.
