Rohnert Park Pack 1 Scouting

Our Mission

As a parent today, we cannot help but be concerned about theinfluences and situations that our sons could be involved in without ourguidance and direction. Cub Scouting is a program designed to developpositive attitudes and character while it captures a boy's interest inthe use of crafts, games, skits, songs, and other activities.

The mission of Pack 1 is to provide a positive atmospherewhere Scouts will grow and develop. In Cub Scouting, a framework isprovided with guidelines upon which we build. We build by adding fun andexcitement into the learning process. Many of our activities allow boysto experience something they will rarely get the chance to doelsewhere. And all foster learning, but most of all, FUN!

Cub Scout Pack 1 operates under the rules and policies of theBoy Scouts of America.

Blue and Gold

The Cub Scout colors are blue and gold. Blue signifies thesky, truth, spirituality, and loyalty. Gold stands for warm sunlight, good cheer, and happiness. Together they symbolize what Cub Scouting isall about. Blue and Gold is also the name of our celebration of theFebruary birthday of Scouting.

Purpose

Cub Scouting has the following purposes:

  • To positively influence a boy’s character development and growth.
  • To develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship.
  • Strengthen a boy’s ability to get along with others.
  • Foster a sense of personal achievement by developing new interests and skills.
  • Provide fun and exciting new things to do.
  • Show a boy how to be helpful and do his best.
  • Prepare him to be a Boy Scout.

Who

Boys in TK through fifth grade (ages 5-10) may join ourpack.

Dens of ideally 5-8 boys meet two to four times a month and the entirepack meets once a month at St Elizabeth Seton Church. This year ourpack meetings will be on the fourth Thursday of every month, startingat 7 pm in the multipurpose room.  When there is a date or time changes it is always publicized on our website.

Volunteers

The entire pack consists of volunteers, from the Cub Master tothe Den Leaders. Without these volunteers, there would be no program forour boys.

We of Pack 1 realize the value that each and every parentpossesses to help our pack grow and not only encourage, but expect, everyone to help out in some way to "help the pack go."

Every parent that volunteers in some way helps everything runsmoother and prevents the "burnout" that often happens when too fewvolunteers try to take on the entire burden.

There are many volunteer positions available, from helping atpack meetings to running a committee, from taking photographs tobecoming a den leader. You will be asked to sign up and keep yourpromise of helping the pack run smoothly.

Just remember, many hands make light work and that our boysdepend on you!

Fund Raising

Pack 1 and our program cannot run without funds. Scouts andtheir parents are expected to participate in fund raising events of thePack. The profits of any fund raising will go to the Pack fund and beused to maintain the Pack. This includes, but is not limited to, thepurchase of awards, materials, training of leaders, rechartering, general upkeep and supporting of Pack activities.

One of Scouting's main fund raising events is sellingTrails-End Popcorn. This is our major fundraiser and all Scouts willhave a goal to try to reach. This fundraiser starts now and ends inmid-October.
